VtBowhunter
I sent out my application and now the waiting begins.......I've never tried to get a tag before, but figured it was time.......If I draw one, then I'll be hunting a "Moz" with the bow........I hope I get drawn. fisherguy
Re: Moose tags in VT Good luck. WHat kind of odds are there in getting drawn there, and what is the season set up like?
6sixpoint_nobrows
Re: Moose tags in VT sounds like a lot of time, this year im going elk hunting in wyoming with my bow, i cant wait!
VtBowhunter
Re: Moose tags in VT Odds are actually pretty good with the population growin as fast as it is. The season starts on the 3rd saturday of october and runs for 6 days. You put in your 20 choices for zones in the order in which you would like to hunt them, and then the lottery starts. You can hunt them with your choice of weapon and you get to put a 2nd shooter on your tag. Most zonesallow for either sex but a certain number of tags are for antlerless Moz only. VermontHunter
Re: Moose tags in VT Man,,,, Josh you turning into a hunting NUT or what....LOL,,,,,That dang tag is going to cost you if you are on of the lucky ones.....$125.00 plus the $10.00 application fee for instate hunting sounded steep for me, from what they charged for the last 2 years.....But hey that's me. I wish ya luck Bro...
fisherguy
Re: Moose tags in VT Too bad it is such a short season and after the rut. (assuming that teh rut would be over by the end of september or early October). THat could make for a challenging bowhunt.
VtBowhunter
Re: Moose tags in VT Actually the rut ends at the end of October here, so it won't be too bad and if I draw fr zone "L" I have the moose there pretty well figured out. Luke, the tag is only $100 plus the $10 application fee, but if I tag one then all that meat is well worth the $110.
