Turkeygirl
While I was gone this weekend, Andy was hunting and he shot a small buck on Saturday. Well he tracked it then couldn't find it, thinking he hit it in the leg. Well last night(Monday) we heard some vultures, walked out to a hedgerow in the field and there was a buck, already eaten by the birdsand animals. i'm glad it wasn't me but it sucks to shoot a deer and find it later. I hate to see meat get wasted. Kind of luck the big buck I shot my very first year of hunting, hit it in the leg, found it a week later, rack sawed off, and body eaten by animals. Anyone ever have a simialr situation?
Bushman
Re: Too bad Yeah, I know how he feels. This year I shot a young 5x5. Tracked it for a couple of hours...nothing. Searched for two weeks when I finally came upon the skull and front leg. Made me feel sick. Tell him to keep his head up. You did all you could. fisherguy
Re: Too bad Recoverd everyhting i have shot thus far.knock on wood. Two years ago me and my dad found a buck while deer hunting that we thought the wolves had killed, but on closer inspection it had a broadhead in its hind leg, the wolves had just scavenged off it. Someone is still kicking themselves, it scores about 155, but has triple brow tines on each side, 8.5 inch bases and unreal mass on teh beams too.
