JamesVee
I've been waiting for someone else to bring this up. Did anyone else catch the last show? Man what a riot. I can't help but get pumped when I watch this stuff!
Norm Sauceman
Re: Ultimate Fighting, Spike TV I think I caught the first two then I went to sleep. I thought the second fight was messed up and I thought the other dude won it. It was a good fight though.

JamesVee
Re: Ultimate Fighting, Spike TV Those ankle locks/holds just dont' work like they used to. Guys have learned to ride 'em out. I agree with you Norm, I think that Bonnar should have won that second fight. I was real glad to see both light-heavy's get contracts. fisherguy
Re: Ultimate Fighting, Spike TV Yup, watched the whole series. I think Stephan won by a point or two, but before the fight started i already said to my buddy"this will be nuts, the loser will be in the UFC as well". How those two stayed standing is beyond me. I think Chris Leban will be seen in the UFC as well. He lost one fight basically while a guy laid on top of him and did nothing, and the other due to a lucky elbow. [/ QUOTE ] Randy will.....he executes more efficiently, and as tough as pig iron..... I don't totally agree that Shamrock got his but kicked......he would have stood a good chance it he'd of just brawled......he isn't as flexable as he used to be so those high leg kicks caused his feet to slip out from under him.......if he'd have kept his feet on the ground, brawled and went for more takedown submissions, he would have gotten one to stick.......I think that fight would have ended differently......... MUDRUNNER
Re: Ultimate Fighting, Spike TV I first seen the show last weekend and really got into it.I have seen a few UFC matches on T.V. though. The fight saturday should be a dandy. Is there any other matches on ppv with it?I was going to get it and have a few people over, but our cable ppv has it for $35.Seems a little steep to me for one fight. waterfowler_gal
Re: Ultimate Fighting, Spike TV We have Ultimate Fighting in Minnesota. It is pretty awesome and crazy to watch in person.
sasksheds
Re: Ultimate Fighting, Spike TV Get your buddies together 35$ is nothing between 5-6 guys.Ya Randy was the smarter fighter last time.I saw Chuck fight in Pride as well.Dana had a bunch of money on him & lost.Chris L is an animal & should have won both his fights.I sure hope we see him in the UFC.Kenney didnt deserve to win.He got lucky with an elbow. But that's all part of it. Nick
Re: Ultimate Fighting, Spike TV I dunno about video stores where you guys live, but if you wanna watch some good ultimate fighting sometimes they have the older ones you can rent for a week for like $3. Them ones with Dan Severn and Ken Shamrock are sweet. They dont show anything on spike TV compared to the videos or the ones on PPV.
hutchies
Re: Ultimate Fighting, Spike TV Yeah that show is awsome!!!! I think Dana should have pimp slapped Bobby Southworth after his fight. That dude had some kind of attitude considering the chance he was given in the first place.
wtnhunt
Re: Ultimate Fighting, Spike TV Have not watched any of ultimate fights since back when Dan Severen and Ken Shamrock were the guys to beat.
Newarcher
Re: Ultimate Fighting, Spike TV I think that they need to bring this concept to prisons around the country. Let interested inmates fight it out UFC style against other inmates, let the winners tour the prisons around the nation and fight each other, and then sell tickets to it or do a PPV. Have the money kicked out to a victim's compensation fund or something non-governmental. I would suggest that they use it to offset prison costs but then some greedy politician would decrease prison funding by the amount earned. Anyway, I think the toughest individuals on the planet reside in the maximum security prisons and I would love to see some of them get their butts kicked. Swamphunter
Re: Ultimate Fighting, Spike TV [ QUOTE ] Have not watched any of ultimate fights since back when Dan Severen and Ken Shamrock were the guys to beat. [/ QUOTE ] I have watched this show, but I agree with William. Dan "The Beast" Severn, Ken Shamrock, Royce Gracie...guys like that. This is not about martial arts anymore, its about ground and pound....very little technique involved. This last show proved it. Shamrock attempts a rear leg roundhouse kick to the head and gets taken to the ground and beat. Has anyone ever seen the Gracies?? Royce and Rickson Gracie (R is pronounced as an H sound). Royce Gracie fought in the first 4 UFC's and one the title I think a total of 3 times without ever throwing a punch! That is Jiu Jitsu boys!! Submission fighting!! That is my main style of martial arts that I enjoy participating in. You tend to get a bit bruised up, but awesome stuff! These new UFC fights are all ground and pound now. Not that I don't respect 2 guys willing to go out there and kick the crap out of each other for our television viewing enjoyment though! Research the Gracies a bit they have some cool websites! This Sat on Pay Per View, Chuck Liddell will be fighting Randy Couture. It will be an awesome fight.
HuntingInMaine
Re: Ultimate Fighting, Spike TV I guess I am a sissy or something because I just can't watch people beat up on each other. Can't even watch it in a movie when it is "pretend". I would have to be really p.o.'ed to let loose on someone and don't know how you could get that worked up against someone you don't even know. Guess it is my lack of testosterone! LOL

What ever happened to the Gracies Ken? Think the last one I watched had all three of Royce Gracie, Dan Severen and Ken Shamrock in it. That was alomst 10 years ago. 10acboy
Re: Ultimate Fighting, Spike TV Same as wtnhunt here. Haven't seen it in many years, but I do remember Gracie and Shamrock from the earlier ones. Gracie was the man. I thought this guy is going to get killed, but he kept on whopping those guys with what they called "joint manipulation". OUCH!!
