tedicast
You will be very surprised in the difference of any of the top of the line bows, compared to your early 90's Hoyt. Technology has come a long way. Your best bet would be to find a good archery shop, and shoot a few bows. The new V-Tec looks like an awesome bow, and I like the Viper Tec also. Being a Mathews shooter myself, if your are not 100% hung up on Hoyt, give the Mathews Switchback, or Outback a try. I thing you will be very surprised in the smoothness. Don't be afraid to try and companies bows, you just might be surprised, and find one that really feels comfortable to you, and it might not be the Hoyt. Get home safely, and Thank You for for servinig our country.
Guest bowhunter56
Re: New Bow I suggest going to a dealer or bow shop that lets you shoot what they sell, i have always shot hoyt, but just bought a pse 05 firestorm lite. Try as many as you can, then decide.
RyanH
Re: New Bow I suggest like the others! Just go shoot them and then decide! I would say shoot some Hoyts, Mathews, Bow Techs, and also PSE! They all make a great bow and you wont go wrong with any of them!

Chrud
Re: New Bow I'd shoot a couple different bows. I shot a Hoyt XTEC last year and it felt like a lesser bow (just my opinion) once I shot the Mathews Switchback.
VTbowman
Re: New Bow Like the other stated. Shoot as many as you can. Different manufactures too, not just Hoyt or Mathews. To answer your grip question. Yes most bows will have grip replacement sizes, however top shooter go with a more narrow grip to reduce bow torque. Or plainly stated, no bow hand movement while shooting. A larger grip can lead to your bow hand moving it left or right without you even realizing you did. BTW Be safe over there and Gods speed home.
