Guest hookedonhunting
I finally got my birds 1 on friday and 1 on saturday! Friday morn i set up in a blind and called a small jake right to my decoy. Boy did he pay for that! Saturday morn didnt call or hear nothin. Saturday evening i saw some birds run over a ridge in a field so i slipped over the ridge and birds went runnin every where. I picked out the tom and busted him. he had just over a 10 inch beard, almost 1 inch spurs, and weighed about 20-21 lb. sun morn called up 5 jakes and 9 hens. Too small to shoot! Call em close hit em hard!

Guest hookedonhunting
Re: Georgia Sucess heres the story (didnt have time this morning had to go to school) Friday morn i heard 2 different gobbblers went to the closest one. got about a hundred yards from him on the roost. Set up and did a soft tree call and he flew down to me but the hens found out something wasn't right and flew off. Immedietly from there i set up in a blind and not too long after that a small jake enters the field and sees the decoy and starts walking straight to it. boy did he mess up! sat mornin went to same place didnt hear or call up a bird so my father and i left from there to the N Georgia Mountains to hunt on my grandfathers place. we got there about 2:15 and i went to get my 4wheeler and i hopped on and went to a 3 to 4 acre field that i knew turkeys used and sure enough there were at least a dozen in there. Unfourtanetly i left my gun in the car! so i raced back to get it and when i got back i saw the turkeys walk over the ridge. so i did a stupid thing and chased after them on foot and by the time i caught up with them they had already went over three ridges but too late i already had my bead on the big one when he took off runnin.
