Guest J_Owens_66
Anyone have one? How does it shoot? They are resonably priced. I was looking at getting one built, left handed, a matte stainless finish, tapered octagonal barrel 26 incher, in .257 Weatherby Mag, with a clario walnunt stock. I think this would be the ultimate long range deer rifle with maybe a Zeiss 4.5-14X44 Silver finish. AJ, how is the Montana 99 action, how is their workmanship, and how is the overall quility of their guns? Thanks
AJ
Re: Montana Custom Rifles I have not handled one personally, so I can not give first hand info. I have followed their progress on another forum and I have read mixed results. They are an investment cast receiver like Rugers. Most of the bad reports have stated their tolerances are not exactly anything resembling close. These reports have been from professional rifle builders. That action would not be my choice for a long range hunting gun. I would use a blueprinted Rem 700 at minimum.
