That's awesome, I love browns. Last year a guy caught a 33" 30lb brown at a lake near my home, he was fishing a steep rocky bank and when he finally got it out of the lake he had to lay on it to keep it from getting away..

Here's the story:

Sunday, April 10th. Jason Archie(pictured in Gator's post) checked the forecast and headed out to Re-Reg dam to catch some walleye.

When he arrived, there were two older gentleman with flyrods, standing in the water right where he wanted to fish.

Jason tied on a Lucky Craft stick bait and made a few casts around the men just goofing off.

Finally, the men began moving off and one of them glanced at Jason's Ambassador casting reel and said, "You know, if you'd get a fly rod, you'd catch more trout?"

Jason smiled and replied, "Who says I'm after trout?"

At that moment, his rod tipped and he landed a three pound walleye.

30 minutes later, Jason had landed 3 good walleye and a 3 pound trout.

Then the big one hit. It peeled 50 yards of line in the blink of an eye. The fight lasted 35 minutes and brought spectators up and down the river to the bank. With only 10 lb line to work with, Jason was patient and finally landed the 17 lb 4 ounce monster.

Jason is probably the only person in Oklahoma who doesn't think his record will last long.

"I've seen bigger ones while snorkeling," he says. "I promise you there are bigger trout in this river and someone is going to catch it some day."
