lil hunter
they are more of a sporets store than a hunting store but ours has a decent little outdoor section. They have several movies, optics, fishing rods( a few hundred rods right now) fishing lures, bow targets, shotgun shells, (where I always buy my deer slugs. they have a huge slection of shells). They also have some shotguns, paintball stuff, more archery stuff, several different boots, canoes/kayaks, some cleaning supplies, a few bows, some archery stuff, a little camo, some waders etc etc etc. They are fairly expensive here. they have good deals on shotgun shells but thats about it. on a scale from 1-10 I'd rate the outdoor section a 6. A lot of different stuff, but usually not much selection of s certain type of item.
Steven
Re: Dicks Sporting Goods... I've been there once, and one word to describe it: Overpriced. They seem pretty proud of their merchandise.

10acboy
Re: Dicks Sporting Goods... It just depends what you like. I like going there if I know what I am looking for because I believe that they are higher than most stores. They seem to have pretty good sales though - that's when I go. I have found stuff cheaper at Dicks' then at Wal Mart. Just know the best price before you decide to buy it at Dicks because you could probably find it cheaper elsewhere. Tominator
Re: Dicks Sporting Goods... had one of those in the Cleveland area. it was a pretty nice store. i'll bet, knowing chain stores like i do, it will depend on the manager to hire quality people who know what they're talking about. if they get dopes who don't know a recurve from a compound, the store will suck. the one in cleveland was a nice store. Ohiobucks
Re: Dicks Sporting Goods... There is one in Mansfield, Ohio. I went there once just out of curiosity. Found some Callaway CTU30 golf balls, $34-36.00 per dozen anywhere else, for $17.95 on sale. The price had been marked down a few times, but that’s a great deal. Bought two dozen. wishinone
Re: Dicks Sporting Goods... I have a couple within a 45 minute drive, they have some good sales during the year and take some pretty good mark downs on camo and what not toward the ends of hunting season. Both stores have a pretty good selection of guns, bows and fishing equiptment. Oh and if a sale item isn't in stock they will deal to make a sale, I got $70.00 off each of two ladder stands two years ago.
too_pointer
Re: Dicks Sporting Goods... Never been to one, but get a magazine they advertise pretty heavy in. They mostly show guns and pistols. I didn't think their prices were really high, but haven't compared those prices around too much. too_pointer
iron buck
Re: Dicks Sporting Goods... Dicks is one of the main stores around me. The prices are often better than Cabelas and Wall MArt. They carry quality gear and they put things on sale BEFORE the season starts when you need them. Then you can get great deals. It benfits all of us in teh price department to have more options. The only thing I dislike about Dicks is that they drove the small shop out of business by me. He could not compete with the prices. He closed shop and sold out. Other than that Dicks is a great store for the sportsman. They have an entire department with nothing but hunting and fishing gear.
Strut10
Re: Dicks Sporting Goods... Dick's is pretty popular around here. They're just like anywhere else........good buys on some stuff........not-so-good on others. I like to hit their store a couple times a year. Usually find something to buy.
