Jeramie
This my (almost) 3-year old AQHA stud. He will actually be three in June. He's in an odd phase right now. I cant get him to put on weight. I have been around horses all of my life and I have never seen a horse stay as lanky as he is right now but ive never seen a horse grow in height as fast as he has. I dont really think there is anything wrong with him. He has shot up (in size) like a bullet. I am pretty sure that is the only thing keeping him lanky. He still has a lot of muscle tone, he's wormed regularly, he has all of the grass/ hay he can eat, and he gets 12% stable mate and steemed crimped oats every day. A vet told us it could be wolf teeth but I cant see any and he still eats everything in sight. He still has a shinny coat so im at a loss. Ive seen horses stretch as they grow but this critter has been lanky for over a year. I would like to keep him a stud because of his blood lines and he is as gentle as my mares but if he doesnt improve he will probably get cut in a year or so. Again, ive been around horses all my life and im sure its just a growth spurt but what do you think? any suggestions?

Guest bexar_county89
Re: Hey horse guys...... (pic) I'm sure, if you've been around horses all your life (like me as well) then you've floated his teeth, wormed him, and mineral oiled him. I don't know what to tell you, I'm 15 and I've owned horses all my life, then again your older than I am. Sorry I wasn't more help Good Luck
Tominator
Re: Hey horse guys...... (pic) I would call my buddy Chuck, then again, if I ever have a horse, someone make sure you come to the looney bin around early November, check me out, take me hunting, and make sure I get back to the asylum before pudding time. Thanks.
