johnf
Most of my audible prayer are over dinner, at sunday school, or with my daughter. I think God knows what you are going to pray before you do. If God knows what we think if we are sinning then he certainly can hear our praises, worshiping and prayers wheather they are yelled at the top of our lung, whispered or just thought. Swamphunter
Re: A praying question? Inaudible for myself, no special place...audible for my children when I put them to bed at night.
HuntingInMaine
Re: A praying question? I pray silently, it would be insulting to God to say He didn't hear my prayers because I didn't say them out loud. I don't need any special place to pray, where ever I am does the trick! slugshooter
Re: A praying question? I'll admit that I don't pray as much as I used to or should. But here is how I feel about praying loudly. "And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your father, who is unseen. Then your father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. " Matthew 6:5-6 As he taught, Jesus said, " Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted in the marketplaces, and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. They devour widows houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. Such men will be punished most severely." Mark 12:38-40 I grew up in a pentecostal church where praying loud and boisterously was the norm. I never did and never liked it when it was done because it all seemed like one big show. "Hey, look at me, I'm praying as loud as I can so everyone can hear what I have to say !!!" At least that's the way I took it.

spyderpancake
Re: A praying question? i generally pray silently, unless i am called upon at a meal or at church. as far as rookie rover's question, i have prayed looking up into the sky, especially at night, but it seems easier to concentrate and forget about other things when i close my eyes.
