coles
today my friend AJ and i were walking the river fishing and i heard a wierd noise that i had heard before. i looked up and a pair of woodducks flew over. so we followed them and we ended up seeing about 15 more. they are reall uncommon up here. so i dont know whats going on. but i am thinking of asking the landowner if i can put some boxes up so we can get a healthy population going. but i dont understand what they would be eating. i thought they ate acorns and we dont have em up here. so i dontknow. i was real surprised. cant wait til next season. RTF
Re: i am soo excited! Good deal. Woodies will eat whatever is available. I dont have too many if any acorns around my ponds and they are loaded with woodies.
Missed160
Re: i am soo excited! We have lots of woodies in Minnesota. THey are fun, very challenging to shoot. They will feed on anything that other puddlers do. We get a lot of them coming into the goose decoys in fields. Most of them do head south pretty early, when the first cold weather hits. If you have some around, save your money to get one mounted, the drakes are incredible!
