AJ
I have been toying with the idea of getting a couple big guns to add to my selection. One will be a 338 Remington Ultra Mag and the other will be either a 375 H&H or a 375 Ultra Mag. I liked the 700 LSS and I figured I would get one in a year or so. I looked this year dn they don't offer them in the big RUM cartridges anymore. DOH! Oh well, I figured I would get one down the road. I found a place that has Rem 700 Senderos stainless fluted in 338 RUM in stock. They are a decent price also. Now I have to talk myself into getting one. I have a Nikon Titanium 5.5-16.5X 44mm waiting to get mounted. So should I get it?

Guest Colorado Bob
Re: Convincing myself I need another gun AJ-----I would get the 375 H&H. But in all honesty I just about done getting rifles----I want to go on hunts to use them !! That 375 H&H I have is begging to go to Africa on a buff hunt !!!!! That 338 Ultra Mag----well-----I would pass & take that Weatherby you have & come to Colorado on an elk hunt !!!!!
AJ
Re: Convincing myself I need another gun I am well aware of what I will need to put down the critters. I have those bases covered for North American game and pretty much anything I have the desire to hunt in the world. I have 25 rifles from .17 Remington through .338 Win Mag. So its more just an addition to the inventory and something new to play with. Good point Bob! Thats my goal for the next decade. My 30's were building my shooting inventory and the plan is to use them in the 40's. I am still on the fence about getting it. It could go either way. iron buck
Re: Convincing myself I need another gun AJ You can't afford NOT to get them I basically went the same route & bought a nice stockpile of rifles in my 30s. I now have bases covered from groundhogs to Elephants LOL. I also wanted to get rifles that I will pass along to my daughter, nieces & nephews when they start to hunt. That way thy will all have at least one "hand me down" shootin iron LOL. That was something I never had. I did not even get my first rifle until my mid 20s. I borrrowed them until then. I have more than made up for it since Be careful about waiting to late to make those tough hunts. The mountains get taller & steeper as you age. And getting into huntin shape takes longer every year. You need strong lungs & legs to hunt out west. And the older you get the harder it becomes. Until that inevitable point in everyones life that they come to the realization that they can't do it anymore. Me..........I hope I never get there, If I'm lucky I'll die in the mountains at a nice ripe old age hunting the rockies LOL
bearcat
Re: Convincing myself I need another gun I would definately get them. Both Rifles you mentioned the 700LSS and the 700 Stainless fluted Sendero have been discontinued this year. You said there was some place that had some of the Fluted Senderos in stock at a good price. Would $759.00 be a good price on one of these? Guest Colorado Bob
Re: Convincing myself I need another gun AJ---that's when I REALLY started to hunt serious was after I turned 40. 10 years later-----I still hard but now I want to hunt different animals. Another couples trips over to Africa are in the game plan. 1 for antelope class critters & 1 for a buff or maybe a trip down under for a water buff. I would like to get the slam on turkeys. Another bighorn if I ever get drawn again. Plus for some strange reason I want to get a moose----not an Alaskan but a Shiras or maybe a Canadian. Plus bird hunting is a ton of FUN. Guest lilcrackshot
Re: Convincing myself I need another gun Those are nice rifles but I would take a serious look at the new 700 XCR by Remington. Beautiful shooter from what I here
