I walked all around some land my father leases for us to hunt behind my grandparents farm sat. morning on the 16th. I walked all over the close to 1500 acres but never heard a bird, in part to the strong winds which shut down any gobbles that may have normally been heard. On my way back to my truck I saw a bird on the dam of my grandparents pond. As soon as I called he gobbled and cut me off. He gobbled and strutted to within 15 yards of me with me only making a couple of calls. He ended up weighing 20 lbs. and 2 oz. He had an 11 1/8" inch beard and both spurs were right around 1 1/8" inches. I believe I hunted the same bird the year before but was unsuccessful. Hope y'all enjoy the story and the picture. And hopefully I can add a couple more before the season ends. 6232Turkey-med.JPG

Oh man, your not making it easy to wait till May 1st. Very nice bird man. By the way, I see it's just not me that can't give up the faded camo cargos with holes in em. I had the cargo pocket resewn after a blowout and a bunch of warwounds in mine. Darn barb-wire fences.

Yeah paul, i figured as much as they charge for that net camo and how cheap and easy it is to rip, i might as well get my use out of it. Those pants and shirt have taken a many a bird and deer. Thanks for all the comments guys and good luck on y'alls seasons
