Jug Lines

I have had several people asking how I make my jug lines, here are a couple of pics. Right now my hokks are 2,4,and 6 feet off bottom, but I am changing that to 4, 8, and maybe 12. The main line is 35' long, I can put these in about 30' of water. The anchor is tire weights that I melted down, and poured in a muffin tim, with eye bolts to secure the line to. The jug is a 4" swim noodle cut to 20". The main line is #48 bradied twine rated at 260lbs. hooks are 5/0 eagle claw circle hooks. Swivels are 2/0 from WALMART. Re: Jug Lines

Yep I got to get some of those ready for this weekend. Hey gator did you check out that website i sent you? Did you see the jugs they sell on there. They are similar to yours but they ran PVC thru them and left is sticking out one end about a foot. They said when there is a fish on that the jug will stand up.

Re: Jug Lines

That is remarkably similiar to my jug lines!!! I guess Okies know a lil bit about gettin some juggin done!!!! Only I use old window weights on mine. My dad found some lady whos son tears down real old houses, and he keep the window weights for us. I think I'm going to run mine tonight, while I do a little crappie fishing. I can't wait!!

Re: Jug Lines

when you say jug lines i think of a milk jug with line and a hook. floating on a lake. me sitting in a boat with a spot light watching witch one out of 8 will go under. your set up looks more like a trot line or a limb line. it is a nice set up tho.

Gator's rig is still called jugging. Just without a jug. Swim noodles are much easier to handle and transport and store than milk jugs.

(We use ours to wrap our limb lines around and store in a 5 gal. bucket. )

Besides, with several colors to choose from, they look real pretty floating all over the lake.

Right Gator? wink.gif
