Squirrelhunter91
Last night (4/19), tonight (4/20) and tommorow night (4/21) from 7pm - 11 pm my 11 y.o. brother is going to be taking his Hunter Ed course. This is just the basic safety course. Then, he is going to take his bowhunting course, then his trapping course along with my dad and I. Besides, if he can't get out for a deer season, we could use his tags...

[/ QUOTE ] Better not try that in Idaho or you would loose everything you have! They are really strict on that out here!
Shaun_300
Re: My brother is taking his Hunter Ed. Party Hunting is legal here in Ontario, but for instance, dad couldnt be at home in Ottawa, and me up at the hunt camp an hour away and i use his tag. thats illegal. but if dad is hunting with us, and i already used my tag, i could shoot a deer and put his tag on it. thats cool that your bro is taking the course! my grandma got married to a guy from Ohio last april, and he moved here, so past weekend he had to do his Ontario Hunter Safety course, and his Canadian Firearms Course. [/ QUOTE ] a lot of ppl here in Illinois do that...lol..honestly i dont see the big deal because the state issues so many tags a year, whats it matter who shoots the deer???? as long as your not poaching them
Alisha
Re: My brother is taking his Hunter Ed. Be sure to let us know how your brother does with his class! It's been since I was in junior high when I took my hunters education course.... and I was the ONLY girl in a class of almost 50! I caught a lot of flack from the guys until I got the 3rd highest score on the test - missing only 2 questions. LOL That sure did shut them up. [ QUOTE ] Besides, if he can't get out for a deer season, we could use his tags [/ QUOTE ] Here in NY, DMP tags are transferrable - just sign on the dotted line. Last year I transferred two of my four DMPs to other hunters - both tags got filled.

Reloader
Re: My brother is taking his Hunter Ed. just moved to Nebraska last summer...missed last years hunting season because I didn't have a Nebraska certified Hunter Ed course. I took the course almost 15 years ago and they didn't issue certificates...you just had to have taken the class but the didn't make you prove it...honor system I guess....Nebraska requires you to carry the completion card with you while hunting...Still trying to find a class that I can fit into my schedule... Squirrelhunter91
Re: My brother is taking his Hunter Ed. Dang, BucknRut beat me to it.. Yeah I am talking about his DMP's, but that's only if SB 120 goes through... Well, he passed! And now once he turns 12 he's getting his license. My parents are going to buy him the lifetime license like they did for me.
