Hard Choice

Do you guys ever have trouble with this decision:

The main farm I hunt has plenty of deer, and plenty of bucks, One will be close to B&C.

But I don't want to burn it out. My brother in laws have another farm I hunt, again, plenty of deer, haven't seen any giants though.

I am having a tough time convincing myself to hunt the second farm, I KNOW that the day(s) I hunt there the BIG one is bedding under my favorite stand on the main farm...

Re: Hard Choice

I HAVE TWO GREAT SPOTS,BUT BOTH HAVE SOME NICE BUCKS.WHERE I HUNT USUALLY DEPENDS ON HOW FAR I WANT TO DRIVE.ONE PLACE IS 15 MINUTES FROM HOME,AND THE OTHER IS AN HOUR AND A HALF DRIVE.IVE SEEN SOME GREAT BUCKS AT BOTH PLACES.I HUNT THE CLOSER SPOT ABOUT 3 TIMES A WEEK,AND HAVENT BURNT IT OUT YET,SO I DONT WORRY ABOUT THAT TO MUCH.

Re: Hard Choice

I would definately hunt both. During the rut, the bucks are on the move and do not stay put in one area. They can cover a lot of ground so you never know what may show up in the other farm.

I do not hunt the same spots over and over. I have seen it burn an area out. I wait at least a few days between hunts in the same areas.

the farm with big buck:

Whats the chances of hunting with a real good wind, you know, everything in your favor!! I would only hunt thoughs days, that puts the odd's in your favor more. Instead of going in and out every 3-5 days, and just taking a chance that he MIGHT come by!

might want to think about that too!
