Re: How many of you are NRA members? And Why?

I am not for a couple of reasons.

First, time, money, and energy. I just haven't taken time to enroll.

Second, I don't exactly agree with some of their stances on certain ammo, etc. I just think that armor piercing bullets don't have a place on the streets. I think that they go a little hard line at times and appear almost as a radical group.

Re: How many of you are NRA members? And Why?

I most definitely am.

Reasons

1. They are the only association fighting for our rights to keep and bear arms

2. Great magazine free with membership

3. Firearm insurance free with membership

Personally I'm glad they're hardline.. if you give an inch, they'll take a mile... registration is the first step to confiscation.. I say blame the criminal, get tougher on them and leave the law abiding citizens alone

Yep. They are the only credible organization with the kinds of numbers and muscle (both political and financial) to fight for all of our gun rights.

I shudder to think what our gun-owning lives would be like if Sarah Brady, all six of the Million Moms, "Fast Eddie" Kennedy, Barbara Boxer, Schumer and all the other anti's like them had their way.

The NRA is not some evil organization. We are a large group of like minded (with a few minor differences of opinion among us) individuals concerned about the future of gun ownership in this country. The NRA has done far more for us than any of us as individuals could ever think of doing.

"I am the NRA!"

I'am the NRA!

We may not agree totally with some of the things the NRA does...but what other org. if fighting as hard for gun owners and hunters? confused.gif

Sometimes money can be tight...we've all been there. But what is more important...a few extra dollars a year? or your consitutional right to "keep and bear arms"?

If you think your rights are more important....then find away to buy a membership! wink.gif

One of the biggest things anti-hunters and anti gun people have over us is that we fight eachother about these things. In that process we lose the support to fight to keep our gun and hunting rights in general.

disagreement is fine, we all have our opinions. but we also need to suppport eachother for the bigger battle.

Re: How many of you are NRA members? And Why?

It's interesting how many people will find reasons for not putting their money (support) where their mouth is. I can nit-pick any organizations views and justify not belonging if I try hard enough. But then when I start losing rights, I guess I really don't have any business whining about it do I?

When you vote for a certain candidate, do you agree with every statement or policy that comes out of his mouth?? Probably not. So what do you do ...... not vote for anyone? For many, the answer is yes. Actually that is just the same kind of excuse for being lazy and selfish. The same thing applies to coming up with petty excuses for not joining super effective organizations that look out to safeguard your rights. Personally, I have little use for people that do not have enough conviction or native intelligence to realize that they are only cutting off their nose to spite their face.
