deerhunter10
My school doesn't have air conditioning and it's starting to get in the 80's here and it's making me miserable. Does anyone else know of schools that do not have air conditioning? I don't think our school has enough money to buy one. All we have is little stand up fans in the classrooms. Last year the maximum temperature in the classes was like 102 degrees. It is horrible.

OJR
Re: Miserable! Its only for a few more weeks! For the 1st 7 years I went to school, it was a one room country school and the only AC we had was to open a window! In the winter time, if you got 10 feet from the stove, you couldn't feel it! That was when it was -30 outside! Don't complain!! I don't feel sorry for you!! LOL!!
Steven
Re: Miserable! Yeah, why when I saw Orlan's name in this thread did I know it would be a back 'back in my day' reply? LOL
Strut_Buster
Re: Miserable! Lol... look at it this way. Our school's AC is TOO good. And when they crank that thing up the tempature drops to like 59 degrees in some rooms. Other rooms that have windows are nice but our school is Freezeing lol. But yeah.. 102 in a classroom would make me pass out lol

Turkeygirl
Re: Miserable! My college does not have air conditioning in the Library or the dorms or the Phys.ED center, I hate going to either of those buildings in the summer when I work custodial
HuntingInMaine
Re: Miserable! My kids' school doesn't have a/c and they are in portable classrooms, so it gets really hot. I attend USM and the new buildings have it, but most do not.
Tominator
Re: Miserable! If you have an old computer monitor, a CRT, not an LCD, put your hand on the back of it. Is it hot? Multiply that by 25. That's how hot my room used to get. I requested AC for my computer lab for years, and always got denied, then one day the superintendent came in for a visit, and it happened to be on a 90 degree day outside, so my room was at least 90, but more like 95. Well, that superintendent took 2 steps in my room, looked at me and said, "boy it's hot in here." I felt like punching him. I said "yeah, that's why I've been requesting this room be AC'd for years." That was a Tuesday, by Thursday an air conditioner was installed. Lord knows how long I would have gone without one had he not stopped by. lil hunter
Re: Miserable! We have one. So now all day long it's 70-80 degrees outside, and the AC's are all set on 57 degrees. BURRRR. And instead of just havin a few vents here and there, theres a big thing at the ceiling that blows freezing cold air all over us.
