TreeStandBowHunter
As with anything else, you get what you pay for. Some people like them bows from wally world and some are very successful with them. But again, you get what you pay for, IMO anyway. If you are going the cheap route, wally world it is or even check here in the classified threads. Sometimes you can even go to archerytalk.com and find a good bow(used) for a decent price. Good luck and welcome aboard!
Guest cornbread
Re: NEW TO BOWHUNTING BUT HERE IS MY ? I would recomend you go to a pro shop and have them set you up. A bow is something that needs to fit you and if you have any questions they will be able to help you more than the people a walmart. Also in archery you get what you pay for. GWSmith
Re: NEW TO BOWHUNTING BUT HERE IS MY ? Good Question for a first post!!! Almost certainly assured to bring back alot of responses that will even further confuse you. Get Any Bow.....then go out and have fun with it practicing(Safety First Always). Get one you can afford!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously...I say this because of the cost of some bows these days are unreal....you could spend alot of money and then find out you dont like shooting a bow....that would be a waste of your time and your monetary resources. Then after you have found out what you like in a bow and also what you dont like....you might be able to get a bow that you could use hunting. You should first check your State's regulations and find out what the MINIMUM DRAW WEIGHT is for hunting with a bow(if your careful about this step you might be able to get a bow you can use later for hunting) In my opinion....There are still plenty of practice sessions in your future before you should be hunting with one. You could also do like many of us have and go to a pro shop and take whatever advice is given there. You will hear something different just about every place you go....use your best judgement and stick to what you can afford that will do the job effectively. My first suggestion if you decide to go that way is tell the pro shop what you can afford almost the very second you walk through the front door(then see if they still want to deal with you)<-------<<< (That alone should tell you what kind of people your dealing with) and also what you will be hunting with the bow in the future. I hope I have not offended you....Honestly I would give the same advice to one of my children should they ask....Straight Forward and Up Front. Practice, Practice, Practice.....I know it sounds corny...but it is the only way to become proficient enough to show respect to the animals we all love to hunt.
