This is not a debate on if scent lok suits and the like work or not. Just wondering who out there has a scent control system they use and what it consist of. I shower in scent free soap before each hunt and wash my clothes and hunting apparel in scent free detergent and store them in scent free bags. I also have scent lok and scent blocker garments. My system works for me. What about yours?

No scent lok suits or such. Use unscented soap and shampoo and deoderant like hs scents scent away. Wash all my hunting clothes with sportswash or a similar detergent that does not leave any scent. Keep those clothes in plastic totes lined with cedar limbs. Works well for me.

I have scent blocker camo. I also use Wildlife Research products like Scent Killer. The last few years I like Knight & Hale Stealth Dust.

I do everything you do, plus I spray myself, and my equiptment down with a Scent-A-Way, just before going into the field. I also use Earth Scent wafers. When my clothes or being stored, thay are always in sealed plastic containers, with a fresh earth wafer( except for scent-lok items. No wafers with them) Before my hunt I take the clothes I will be wearing, and put them in a scent free bag. I use one bag for scent lok clothes, and another for all my others, and put a earth wafer in with them. Everything including my backpack, and boots is stored in a large scent free plastic container.

I was my clothes with Scent-A-Way detergent and store them in seperate Rubbermaid Totes. Then, I have a seperate Rubbermaid Tote just for traveling. I put the camo and other stuff I plan on taking along for the hunt in there and drop in a bunch of HS Fresh Earth Scent Wafers. I dress in the field and spray down with Scent-A-Way Plus Fresh Earth Spray.

I play the wind. Sure I wear camo, but I don't have the $$ to buy the expensive scent lok stuff with all the bells and whistles. Play the wind, it works every time.

Thats what i do but i also wash my hunting clothes in Pine-Sol....been working for me for a long time now.

Oh yeah....I try not to eat at Taco Bell the night before a hunt....believe me thats scent control right there!!!

I use scent free soap, shampoo, etc, for the entire bow hunting season and won't start using regular products until after the last day of the season. I also use a natural scent cover spray on my hunting clothing at the start of each hunt from boots to hat and when not in use my hunting clothes are kept in a large plastic container with leaf matter and pine branches from the woods where I hunt. I would like to get a set of those scent blocker hunting suits someday, but just haven't been able to squirrel away enough money for that yet.

Lightweight ScentLok suit that I can wear when it's warm and when it's cold I can put it over my warmer insulated clothes. Also rubber boots. I spray down with human scent neutralizer and some type of earth cover scent.

Re: How many of you use scent control system?

It gets tiring for me, but I wash with the hunter's soap/shampoo combo, then dry my hair, then put on the unscented deodorant, then put on the clothes that have been washed in "Clear and Free" detergent, then spray on scent killer. Also wear the beloved rubber boots.

Why is it tiring? Because I get off work at 2:30, race home and get ready and climb up the tree by 3:00 - 3:15. All the while, trying not to break a sweat.

My husband, however, can get off work smelling like the underside of a truck and go right to his stand and see/shoot deer. He says it's cause he's about 40 feet up the tree. I don't climb that high. crazy.gif

Something else that's funny...my best friend's dad smokes cigarettes in his climber and sees deer too!!!

Re: How many of you use scent control system?

Like you I shower right before I hit the woods. I also wash everything I wear in scent proof cloths wash. If I carry my fanny pack, I'll spray it down with an odor neuralizer too. If I'm bowhunting I also spray my release and arm guard. The last thing is to put on either one of my Supprescent outfits or my Scent Lok outfits. If it's cool enough, I'll also wear a scent lok liner under my scent lok camo outfit too. Basically I do everything possible to try to drastically reduce my scent profile. Works great for me.
