AJ
The first round was easy enough. Lets see how you all do on this one. These six cartridges are all of the .22 caliber family. One is a wildcat.
Guest J_Owens_66
Re: Guess the Cartridges II Correct me if im wrong AJ, but i am almost positive the wildcat is a .22 WSM? And that would be the fourth cartridge. I think thats right, but then again i could always be wrong .

AJ
Re: Guess the Cartridges II So far nobody is 100%. The best 2 guesses are 83% (5/6). Nope the #4 is not a WSSM or WSM. It was the original short fat cartridge. I guess technically it too is a wildcat but anyone can get brass with the proper headstamps. Hangunnr was close but not quite there. Guest bronco_mudder
Re: Guess the Cartridges II I'm just throwin this out there, because I've never seen a case for it, so I don't know what it looks like. Is #4 the .22 high power??

hangunnr
Re: Guess the Cartridges II If'n it's a 22 PPC it's got a longer neck than the ones I've got on hand. Maybe it's just the picture. hangunnr
AJ
Re: Guess the Cartridges II Yep, its the .22 PPC. Its using the Norma brass and is the exact size of my chamber. My barrel does have a .242" neck but that is actually very popular with the .22 PPC.
hangunnr
Re: Guess the Cartridges II Just curious, what is the neck length of your PPC? I assume the .242 you posted is the dia. hangunnr
AJ
Re: Guess the Cartridges II [ QUOTE ] Just curious, what is the neck length of your PPC? I assume the .242" you posted is the dia. [/ QUOTE ] Yep, the .242" is the neck diameter and the neck length is .265". After I checked my casings I checked Nosler's manual and they list .270" for a neck length. Speer and Hodgdon have .2859" for a neck length. Hornady lists .285" in their manual. That's the thing about wildcats, there is no real standard.
