Rayzorp
I never saw the practical purpose. I make sure my guns don't shine or reflect sun light when I hunt. One thing I recommend, I recently started using some fake leaves originally to be used on a bow, just stuck on the shotgun barrel.. my friends love it, makes for great camo without having to risk damaging the gun.. I'd try that first before considering painting..

wtnhunt
Re: camo DuraCoat\'ing Never used a camo'd rifle for deer hunting. The dull black synthetic stock and finish seems to work for me.
too_pointer
Re: camo DuraCoat\'ing You bet, keep it from reflecting shine and you would be good. I personally like the looks of full camo, but I have guns that are matte black that do just as well too_
