Griz
Well folks I would like for you to met Moe and Joe... My little girl came up with the names...LOL Yesterday I had to bring a tractor in that was sitting in a field. When I was driving it to our shop I notice the battery light was on. Once I got to the shop and started looking thing over I noticed a bunch of hay hanging out of the front of the motor. So I opened the hood and a squirrel made a nest right there. As I was pulling put the hay, I came across these two little ones. Once I took care of them and tucked them away in a box. I went back to finish getting the nest out of the motor, I came across 2 more, but they were dead. I figure the motor got them or something. She chewed up the 2 Alt. belts. She sure made a mess out of things. That's for sure... So any way I now have 2 baby squirrels that my wife is bottle feeding. I told my wife I want to keep them wild as much as we can so they can be turned back out were they be long..... I know one thing....These two little bugers can eat now. They are funny to watch when they nurse the bottle. They will grab a hold of that thing and won't let go until they are done....

dogdoc
Re: ~Pics~ Check the little fellers out.... cute little tree rats. for all the damage they do you still can't help helping little babies like that. Good luck griz--they can be tough to raise---seems like they do great for about a week then start fading---but it can be done. what are you feeding them---i have had the best luck using KMR--a kitten replacer. good luck todd

MCH
Re: ~Pics~ Check the little fellers out.... Dale...I've raised 5 different squirrels to full grown. Three were so young that they didn't have any hair at all. One thing you have to do is make them urinate. Take a wet towel and slightly rub their "privates". Once they get a little older make sure they are around tree limbs or sticks of wood. They're kind of like beavers in the way that they need something to chew on at all times. Trust me, I've got kitchen tables, countertops and dressers with the gnaw marks to prove it. We never had to worry about taming them. Once the mating season hits...you can hardly keep them inside. Just keep them away from dogs. And keep cats away from them...they can woop a cat up good...

Tominator
Re: ~Pics~ Check the little fellers out.... Cute, but I must say, you are a better man than me, because I go ballistic when I see mouse damage like I do. If a squirrel ate my alternator belts, I don't know if they'd survive that. Guest Andrea
Re: ~Pics~ Check the little fellers out.... We had so many people around here with orphaned squirrels after Hurricane Ivan. I raised two babies til they were old enough to be set free. I put the cage up in a large oak and left the door open. They ran out the door and up the tree. That night they were back in the cage fast asleep. They did that for a few days until they got brave enough to leave for good. I love squirrels. My mother hates them. They eat all her birdseed. Palssonater
Re: ~Pics~ Check the little fellers out.... If you have ever read any of the "Chicken Soup" books, there is quite an amazing story in one of them about a cancer survivor and his pet squirrel, that came into his life after extensive surgery. It's a good read! Don't plan on acting macho while you read it either!
