Guest bowhunter56
I don't understand, you shot steelheads because they shoot better,,,,,why are you changing again?
PAbowhunter4life
Re: Need help with Broadheads... Well, the Rocket Steelhead is a GREAT head. Bill Winke has used it to kill a large number of elk. They have accounted for the harvest of lord knows how many African animals as well, so you shouldn't worry about the performance of the Steelhead. There have been tests out the ying yang that have proven the Steelhead out penetrates a lot of fixed blade heads, so hit the animal where it counts, and the Steelhead will do it's job. Chrud
Re: Need help with Broadheads... [ QUOTE ] I don't want to be on our first ELK BOWHUNT (this year) and realize why no one uses them [/ QUOTE ] If they shoot great for you, why are you worrying about anyone else using them? Stick with what works.

Tony
Re: Need help with Broadheads... any broadhead will work if its accurate .. Steelforce are great for penetration , but i prefer Muzzys.. whats critical about broadheads is that you need to practice with them a lot and then just replace the blades to make them super sharp again.. this is key to getting confidence in your ability to make good shots while hunting... buckee
Re: Need help with Broadheads... I agree with Tony. Make sure your arrows are shooting true with what-ever broadheads you use. Be confident of your shot placements at different ranges. Know your range limit And make sure your broadheads, are sharp, sharp, sharp. Dull broadheads don't penetrate, nor will they cut arteries as they slide past them.
too_pointer
Re: Need help with Broadheads... Tony and Buckee both touch on a great point. I sometimes am disappointed in the sharpness of replacement blades, and I'm looking into some solid broadheads that I can sharpen myself. I am looking into the G5 Montecs right now if they shoot as well as people say they do. The best, sharpest broadhead does me no good if I stick it into a tree
