Turkeygirl
Re: Been a while.. Farm pics inside Nice barn and nice looking cows! You should be proud of your work. Around my area, there is this really big time farmer. His farm is like in another town, he owns fields in alot of towns, buys out small farms, and is just in it for the money. His cows don't look as nice either, though he chops all their tails off and he has like several hundred. I like small farms, not giant ones, lol. Griz
Re: Been a while.. Farm pics inside Good looking group of cows you have there Jeff and a beautiful place to. We use to run 4000 head of black & whites on 5000 acres here. This ranch was a holding area for them at one time. Just before they would calf they were shipped to the dairy for milking. Now we are into beef cattle. Our last count is 2500 head. We run mostly Angus cattle here. We do have cross breed also. Were just a Cow and calf operation now. The stress level is still high when they start to calf, but other then that it's pretty laid back. They keep me busy 7 days a week. Good luck with them.... Griz... NYBUCK
Re: Been a while.. Farm pics inside [ QUOTE ] JeffNY, what was the name of that Holstein bull that had 1 million progeny through Artificial Insemination??? I remember seeing it in an ABS booklet....back in the mid 90's...man time is flying by... [/ QUOTE ] JB I remember that bull, I used him once. I won $300 in a 4-H contest and bought a registered calf from the Chluse (sp) brothers in Little Falls. I bread her to that bull and sold her for $1400. I can't think of his name though. It will come to me. Nice farm Jeff and very good looking animals.

NYBUCK
Re: Been a while.. Farm pics inside That is pretty cool. I have been to the Woddy Hill Farm, my wife and I grew up on farms and we stopped in to see them and toured the farm. It is quite an operation. Pete Dunigan is the girls basketball coach from Salam. Man it is a small world.
