Foul weather turkey hunts?

Ok I will be honest.

I did not do a search on this topic so just answer the question if ya know it. mad.gifgrin.gif

I have been wondering how the wind, rain, mist, fog, etc will effect turkey movement and if its worth going or not.

I thought I remember reading that they will be huntable in slow drizzle and rain, but can't remember if it was good hunting or marginal at best.

Does mist or fog keep them from moving far with limited visability?

Wind mess with there hearing so they stay put?

Thanks!

It's always worth heading into the woods unless it's not safe to do so(lightning, high winds tornados). I've had some of my best hunts in a light to moderate rain. Wind probably affect turkey more than the other factors.

Good Luck!

Prezactly!!! grin.gif

But I might add......windy days affect the hunter, maybe, more than the gobblers. Gobblers don't lose their drive to service hens when the wind kicks up. The hunter just has a hard tim hearing them go about it. wink.gif
