Guest TheDanishDanger
Hey, me and my dad found 5 sheds this year, and every single one of those five, we couldn't find the match. We searched over and over with about a 200 yard diameter but came up empty handed. Is this just our luck or is this pretty common? Help me out with any suggestions. TreeWalker
Re: Can\'t Find Matchin Sheds!!!! 200 yards ?!?!? Heck I've found matches 1.5 miles apart..........there is no set rule as to where they'll drop........some think the heavier the set, the more likely you'll find them in the same area, because the buck doesn't like the feel of the off-set weight on one side and will shake the other off right there.........but the biggest shed I've found the past tow years is from the same buck, and I have yet to find each years match.......it's frustrating, but extend you search.......more than likely it will be luck that helps you find the match........but it sure is fun being out there trying.... sureshot
Re: Can\'t Find Matchin Sheds!!!! you got it, still after all i ahve found I still run up when I see one lol!! I found a big 82" mule shed last eyar and serched and serched the whole area, thinking it would drop within a few hundred yards, dark was coming so i headed abck to teh ranchers yard and talked to him and looked up and seen soemthign above his grainery about 50 yards from his house, it was a shed, it was the match to the 82" shed,it was a good mile apart and just sheer luck i found it, Lots of tiem i find big sets nearly touching, you can never know where they will drop, thats what makes it so fun!! SaskMan
Re: Can\'t Find Matchin Sheds!!!! I found 4 sets this year out of roughly 70 sheds. Many of the singles I found were NOT little, and I canvassed a 3mile area, I'm sure some I didn't find but others simply got carried away on the bucks head for a greater distance than that. deershed
Re: Can\'t Find Matchin Sheds!!!! The best way to find a matched set is to find the two sheds laying next to each other. I've found sets laying on top of each other and up to a mile away. The set above were my last WT sheds found for this year.I found another set this year that were laying on top of each other.pic below Usually my sets are found while searching a random search for other sheds. On average I found one set for every 10 sheds I find. Every now and then I go out looking for a mate and get lucky, but more often then not I come up empty.
