johnf
I would like to get a little 22 pistol for my wife, or for a concealed handgun. Here are two that I've found that seem to be pretty close. Have any of you had experience with either of these? The beretta is a little more pricy than the taurs. How do they do on accuracy and performance. hangunnr
Re: Which One, or is there a better choice? I had a Beretta model 21. It was a very reliable little pocket pistol. Carried it in a Galco wallet type holster. As I sit here typing this I can't remember why I traded it off. I don't recall ever having any problems with it. I would think it would be a toss up between the Taurus and the Beretta as both should do well. One thing to remember with this type of pistol...... When you first get it run a couple boxes of hot ammo through it to give it a good break in. The small blow back action pistols can be a little finicky when new. hangunnr
Guest DaveGP
Re: Which One, or is there a better choice? check out the lady smith's. my dad is an paramedic and sees all kinds of people who have been shot. on one occasion a doped up guy took multiple hits with 9mm and 40cal and kept up for a few minutes before falling. that being said its all in the shot, but the biggest you can hanlde is what you should carry! stay safe, dave
ZooBear
Re: Which One, or is there a better choice? Ive owned both. They are nice little guns. Look at the Walther 380 also.
WNY_Whitetailer
Re: Which One, or is there a better choice? That little Taurus also comes in a 25 ACP model...I would probably opt for a Kel-Tec P3AT 380 for a small personal carry piece...That's about the smallest and lightest 380 around. There may be smaller but not lighter. I'm kickin' around the idea of purchasing one for concealed carry in the hot summer months when a bigger hand gun would be difficult to conceal in shorts and a t-shirt. Guest lilcrackshot
Re: Which One, or is there a better choice? I would go with the Beretta. I think they make their guns better but I would think of something else than a 22. If you were interested in a revolver Ruger makes a nice 38. johnf
Re: Which One, or is there a better choice? The beretta is also single and double action while the taurus is double only.

[/ QUOTE ] You won;t be disappointed! I bought one 2 summers ago and I carry it all the time- even in winter now, it's just so light, you don't even feel it. ANd that little gun really packs a punch! SOme may poo-poo the .380, but you can;t beat the power to weight ratio!
johnf
Re: Which One, or is there a better choice? Is $259 a good price for that 380?
Rut-Nut
Re: Which One, or is there a better choice? John, IF you're really interested in the Kel-tec try www.ktog.com and then click on the bulletin board. They should be able to give you an idea what the current prices are. I got mine for $229, but that's almost 2 years ago, so I would say 259 is a good deal now. Hope this helps
