Stinger-Hunter
I chose yesterday, Oct 20th and a day to hunt the morning and evening but didn't see a single deer all day. I checked the fields before light and there were no deer, I checked the fields in the evening well after dark and there were no deer. I saw no deer whatsoever during the first 3 and last 3 hours of the day, also. NO DEER. Quarter moons are supposed to have deer moving in the evening and morning... Have you guys noticed the same or is it only in my area NW Indiana?
MUDRUNNER
Re: Quarter Moon - No Deer I'VE NEVER PAID MUCH ATTENTION TO THE MOON PHASES BEFORE.I USUALLY JUST HUNT EVERY TIME I GET A CHANCE.I'VE SEEN THE CHARTS,BUT NEVER COMPARED WHAT THE CHARTS SAID WITH DEER ACTIVITY. VTbowman
Re: Quarter Moon - No Deer Deer movement on my property was extremely low this Oct. The last 2 years it was nothing to observe groups of doe walk out in 2 or 3 different areas on my property. I'm talkin' 9 to 13 doe per group too! Not the 3 or 4 you would normally see. I saw over 32 different deer the opening day of bow season last year in less then 10 minutes. This year, between 4 of us, we saw 3 doe all day long. I don't know what changed but it was definately low movement this Oct.

mag1
Re: Quarter Moon - No Deer I was out on 10/25-26. North of Antigo, wi., about 1.5 miles in. Monday all day, seen 5 on the drive up, only 1 doe when I was 1/2 way up the tree, and then on my way out, I heard one snort in the dark. It looked pretty exciting, Fresh scrapes and rubs, looked like the perfect day, if you consider all I really saw was tree rats and blue jays. It was a great day to be in the woods, yesterday, near Oshkosh, just a morning hunt, saw nothing, pretty windy.
