Chrud
Just thought of this the other day. For you target archers that use BT releases, did you have to increase your draw length? Does the BT make you change your anchor point a lot? Didn't think of that before I got my 28" Q2XL cam.
MCH
Re: Back Tensions and Draw Length I've been experiencing with back tension using a Tru-Ball Chappy Boss and I've only noticed a change in hand postion. I haven't noticed any need to change my draw length, but it may be necessary the more I get into it. Right now, I'm concentrating on the back tension itself by shooting at a blank bale of hay. Just getting over the different hand position has been rough for me. I'd be interested to hear other responses because once I start worrying about accuracy, draw lenth may come into the picture??? Tony
Re: Back Tensions and Draw Length no Matt i dont have to change my draw length to shoot BT.. but it did change my anchor point and my hand position from when i shot a caliper release.. i shoot 4 differant releases through out the year.. my Carter One shot caliper release is my hunting release .. my Zenith triggerless is what i use for Indoor competition and my Carter Just Cuz and my Solution 2 are for 3D and Field archery... because of how i anchor i shoot the 3 BT release from the same anchor... why so many ? because each is for a specific reason.. the caliper is for hunting because it so easy to use and i can command punch a shot at close range to get my shot on a deer... the Zenith is for Indoor because i need a release that i can just use my back muscles to trigger.. its ease of use under controlled conditions is a neccessity for me... the other 2 are used in outdoor shoots because they allow me to control the shot due to wind... mostly because they are easier to let down than the Zenith...however i do shoot all 3 with BT 99% of the time... one of the secrets to Bt is getting your release elbow in the right postion to allow it to be used as a pivot point to trigger the BT... dg
Re: Back Tensions and Draw Length Chrud, You'll probably find a shorter draw length (than what you normally use) works better with BT. Don't be afraid to experiment with draw lengths or let arrow speed influence or prevent you from going shorter. It takes a "draw length sweet spot". But when you find it: WOOHOO!
