MUDRUNNER Posted October 21, 2004 Report Share Posted October 21, 2004 I HAVE TO AGREE WITH THEM.I LIKE TO HUNT RIGHT AFTER A RAIN OR EVEN DURING A LIGHT RAIN.I HAVE'NT TRIED A SCRAPE DRIPPER.I WILL PUT SOME ESTROUS SCENT OR BUCK URINE ON ONE FROM TIME TO TIME THOUGH. If there is a good and active scrape in your area that deer are hammering, that big buck will want to freshen it up ASAP to let the other deer know he's still there & still the boss. It is also great to hunt over them during a light misty rain, the HAWG bucks seem to love that for some reason. As for the scrape drippers, I have tried a few, but to be honest, I don't think they are worth it. It saves you the hassle of having to refreshen mock scrapes, which I use them on, but it is not a magical device. Supposedly, you hang one and the deer only visit during daylight hours, will stay in that area, etc. Well, tell that to a buck the first time he catches wind of a real, live estrous doe at night and he chases her 5 miles from that dripper lol.
