Guest Maine Turkey
I was set up this morning about 50 yds from roost. Turkeys gobbling excessively today, but also slow to come down. Didn't hit the ground until after 6am. Anyway, I was watching very closely and only saw one bird actually fly down...the rest just miraculously emerged from the base of the big pine...one after another like they were stepping out of some magic tree trunk elevator . I did see some strange movement at the base of the tree, almost like they were hopping down limb by limb. Very strange...anyone else ever see such a thing? MrWiggely
Re: The morning \"Hop down\"??? no, not limb by limb. But I have seen them drop straight down if they were roosted low in the tree. Wigs
redbeard
Re: The morning \"Hop down\"??? I've seen toms do it many many times. Just step right off that limb and come straight down, never hit another limb on the way down. And it wasn't any short jump either.
