Guest TheDanishDanger
haha good luck to findin farmers or landowners who will just let anyone walk on their land and hunt. You better become real good friends with them, but in most cases, unless you know the owner, it aint happenin. But family who knows people is always a good way to go. that's my advice. elkoholic
Re: Over the counter states Not knowing where you are from and your willingness to travel I would recommend my neighboring state of Idaho. There are plenty of deer tags (and elk too) still available in the panhandle region. There are some whopper whitetail bucks there and also some good sized muleys. You can also use your deer tag on a black bear should you stumble into a nice one. As for public land to hunt....several million acres of National Forest Service land to explore. Texan_Til_I_Die
Re: Over the counter states All of the whitetail licenses in Texas are over the counter. Non-resident is approx $200. Public land is another matter. Yes, there are many 1000's of acres of public land, but some of it is restricted access (entry by draw). You should check out the Texas Parks and Wildlife web site for more details.

Missed160
Re: Over the counter states Minnesota is overthe counter. It is possible to get access to private land without paying. Also, in the Northern part of the state there are literally MILLIONS of acres of public land, without to much pressure.. The deer density isn't as high as the farm lands, but there are plenty of deer, and BIG deer.
