PELLETS

Re: PELLETS

I went out to shoot my muzzleloader a couple weeks ago and apparently had "damp" pellets.

When I shot, I saw a fire and the bullet shoot about 10 FEET in front of me. I was puzzled at first. I walked up and found my bullet in the leaves! And my barrel was really gunked up.

I figured the pellets must have been damp even though they came out of their original container. So I decided to try again with pellets I had stored in an air tight container of my own. The result was PERFECT, no problems whatsoever.

So much for the "original container" for storage. Never again!

Re: PELLETS

if the pellets are stored correctly it can last a long time. if you don't take care of loose or pellets your fighting an up hill battle. i used pellets from two years ago and then used new for my hunt this year and both worked great but moisture and breakdown can make it impossible to do what it is intended to do and can ruin a good hunt quickly. you can also see changes in color if your powder is changing and getting ruined
