Re: who has the fastest bow

I have a Diamond Gladiator set at 70# and 29" draw. With a 395 gr. arrow, it shot at 298 fps, just two weeks ago (last time I shot it).

About one month ago, I crono'd it with a 350 gr. arrow at 70# and 29" draw. It shot at 307 fps consistantly.

That is SMOKING! IBO rating is 328 fps on that model.

Let's see the new Diamonds by Bowtech do that.

Re: who has the fastest bow

well i have a martin fury with the dual cams it shot 305 with the my 407 gr. hunting arrow but with the speed arrows (not sure what they are but they were for my uncles high country ssr) it shot 337 fps about 5 times before its limbs broke lol. my other bow, HC 4-Runner shoots 302 with gt-xt55-45's at 74 lbs. my new bow the Mathews Switchback shoots 291 with a 396 grain carbon express set at 73 lbs.

the funny thing was that the martin would shoot faster than both the bow-tech black knight and the HC SSR. and thats why my uncle sold the ssr, it wouldnt do what it said it would. (Although those bows didnt blow up after five shots lol, lessons learned)

Re: who has the fastest bow

My Bowtech Extreme Solo set at 70lbs and 31" draw pumps a 425gr arrow out at 282fps. I have taken game out to 38yds with this setup.

Beware speedmeisters getting a broad head tipped arrow to behave consistantly above 260fps can be tough. Don't take for granted even expandables will behave the same as field points. Find out by practicing with a few.

Dropaway rests help a ton, as do perfectly squared inserts. If you are on the edge of a spine chart go with the heavier arrow everytime.

Re: who has the fastest bow

Unless you are shooting a 30 inch arrow that weighs 350grs with the head on it, and have the draw weight at 70lbs. You will not get the advertised IBO speed. Most people shoot heavier arrows, a different poundage or draw length.

Other things that make a speed difference are release type, loop type, string silencers, peep sights, rest type, fletching type and arrow helical. Keep in mind fastest is not always the most accurate nor is it the quietest.

Re: who has the fastest bow

My Hoyt Supertec is shooting a 377 gr (5.4 gr/lb) arrow 311 fps with 70 pound, 29" draw length. It will shoot broadheads in decent groups but it has such a short brace height, I don't like it for hunting.

I've got a switchback that is pretty fast, but I increase the arrow weight till I get to about 260fps. Broadheads tune easily at this speed.

Re: who has the fastest bow

I shoot a bowtech G3.2

412gr arrow

70lbs

31inch draw, with string loop and spider silencers. Took off hush kit on strings and left the ones on limbs.

306fps on the chrono

I haven't played with it either smile.gif (like extra twist)

I have that new Liberty 1 (not bowtech) on the way for the shop. Might put a whooping on the G3.2

Its only 20.5 inchs long. lol

Re: who has the fastest bow

My BowTech Allegiance (30" @70.4#) has a birth certificate that says 350 f.p.s (I think that they entered the arrow weight instead of the speed).

As I figure, I should be getting close to 308 f.p.s. with a 395 grain arrow. (String with a fletcher tru-peep, brass nock, string silencers, rubber eliminator button).
