Re: Whats the longest shot u ever connected on

Longest was 38yds the deer took one hop and crumpled. No trailing necessary.

Hardest was 32yds on a Texas Dall Sheep with both eyes crossed. This was last year. My eyes had been crossed by a severe head injury. I endured double vision for 15months until they were able to surgically correct it. They literally had to cut the muscles around my right eye and re-aim it in my head. Still have a little double vision peripherally but shooting is getting alot easier.

Not to kill the thread, but why do you want long range shots with the bow? The point of hunting with the bow is to get them in close. That is 90% of the hunt. The other half is making the shot. wink.gif

Too late, you already killed the thread tongue.gif. Come on folks, things been good in here latley crazy.gif

On another note, I myself wouldn't take a long shot like that but that is me. If these folks in here think that they are capable of hitting their target that far on a live animal, so be it. Who are we to judge as to how far they shoot their game. If they are out there taking 50 yard shots at game and wounding animals, that's something they have to live with. But there are some really good shots out there and if they can nail a deer...bird or whatever at 50yds, good for them and I am sure they are proud of that kill wink.gif

My first buck with a bow came at 33 yards.......The other 3 were at 10, 15, and 18 yards respectively....3 were pass throughs and the one from 10 yards wasn't b/c I was about 25 feet up and the angle was so sharp that I hit part of his spine and it buried in the back shoulder.....

42 yards through the heart on a doe as we were walking out of the woods. We got near the road where the truck was parked and a doe was walking towards the direction we just came from. My father being left handed couldn't turn to shoot so he asked me if I thought I could kill her from that range. My responce was "Who do you think you're talking to?" I judged her for 40 and drilled her right through the heart. She went 20 yards up hill and piled up.
