Clemens back to the Yankees?

Re: Clemens back to the Yankees?

One of his son's that is still in High School, in the Houston area, has pitched 3 no-hitters this year already. I think family and the deal he has with the Astros that let's him miss games that he is not pitching in to be with his family will keep him in Houston, as long as Andy Petite stays healthy this year.

Re: Clemens back to the Yankees?

Your right, it doesn't make much sense does it lol

I will try to explain my thoughts a little better.

The deal that Clemens has with the Astros allows him to skip games that he is not pitching in to be with his family.

After he retired from N.Y., his teammate from the Yankees, Andy Petite, got traded to the Astros. Andy is also from the Houston area. According to the media, Andy was instrumental in talking Clemens out of retirement to join him in pitching for their hometown team together. Last year, after just a couple of starts Andy required surgery that put him out for the year. So, Clemens re-signed for this year to complete what he & Andy started out to do. Hopefully that makes more sense. lol

Re: Clemens back to the Yankees?

Yeah, the Yankees are a last place team. But they probably won't stay that way. Moose is coming around...Brownie could give them a few more quality starts IF he stays healthy...and their offense alone will win them 60+ games.

Don't get me wrong. I can't stand the Yankees. I'm a diehard Dodgers fan and I pray that the Yanks don't make the playoffs. I wouldn't bet on it though.

Unless the Yankees get a lot better real fast, I dont think it would be worth it to get him. It will cost them something like $17 million to have him play for half a season.

That's chump change for old Goergie, man I hate the Yankees, there really needs to be a salary cap...I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in pinstripes real soon.

Re: Clemens back to the Yankees?

The Astros just drafted his son, Koby, yesterday, which means Koby now has a choice of going to the University of Texas or an Astros minor league team next year. (He just graduated high school).

Bottom line, I don't think the Astros will be trading the Rocket any time soon. grin.gifgrin.gifgrin.gif
