Well, Guys as you know My season started off VERY bad. I was having to work 7 days a week not allowing me to get in the woods.

Managed a Few times to get out in the woods on some public land near by. I had called in a couple jakes and decided im letting them walk. I went out a few other times with no luck. I knew where the birds were roosting so I took my cousin out! He has never killed a bird. We get there and a Guy is already up up there! We had no luck at all ALL DAY!

Work Finally calmed down and I also took a week off work. I really good friend of my took me to his spot.

It was Saturday, April 30th. We pulled in where we were gonna park. He says its cold and he dont wanna go. So he wants to sleep in the truck. He told me where to go. So I head out, and find the spot hes talkin about. I set up one feeding hen decoy, and get set up. I make a few small light Tree yelps and a Gobble just cutts me off. Hes not more then 75 yards away. As day light hits, the hens fly down straight into my decoy. They hang out for a bit. Then i see two jakes coming in with a Tom strutting behind them. All the birds were within 20 yards. The tom was behind a tree which left me know shot. I waited and waited. Then ALL the birds throw their heads up and start putting. I was like HUH??????????? They take off running so I say NOW OR NEVER! I shoot at the tom while running and MISS. Then I hear my friend say DID YOU GET HIM????????????????

Man i was SO MAD he was supposed to be in the truck. LOL I was upset and heartbroken. Thats why the birds Took off.

We started walking and got a couple other birds to respond. We got set up and called them in and they hung up! I could have shot a 2 inch beared hen but I held off.

We go back where we were stayin and Take a nap. We then hit the woods at about 12. We start walking and the 1st call I make a bird cutts me off. So I get set up and Try to work him in. I see hes not coming in. I hear a few hens with him! I started mocking one of the hens and she finally came in and brought BIG DADDY with him. He Came in Strutting FUll Strut with the BRIGHTEST HEAD i have ever seen. I saw this "Baseball Bat" Hanging from his chest, then he turned and I was able to see so HUGE SPURS. I was Pummped and shakin. I finally toook it off safety after enjoying the bird and Observeing him. I eaased on the Trigger and BOOM. The tom hits the ground at 32 steps. I was So excited and filled with Joy.
