I heard one gobble when I went out hunting last Friday, to a real crows caw, and decided I NEEDED a crow call.. LOL Well Walmart was completely hammered for turkey stuff so I went to Dicks Sporting Goods to see what they had. They are in better shape then Wally World as far as turkey stuff so I picked up the HS Strut "Hammerin Crow" call. (They did not have any Primos) Well I get back from lunch and decided to hang out in the truck for a bit and see a couple crows sitting on a small shed off to the side of the parking lot. I give a few blasts and they immediately flew over and perched on a light pole directly over my truck. I could see thier reflection in the car wondow next to me and saw how they were looking around everywhere. I think to myself. "No way-coincidence". So they fly off after a few seconds about 100 or so yards away but I could still see them in the trees. I hit the call again and again they flew right over and landed right on the same light pole! "Dang!", I think, (in more colorfull terms). "I am not sure if the turkeys will like it but the crows sure think it sounds good". Drives the crows crazy when you do the distressed call for them! They fly in sometimes six feet off the ground looking for the hurt buddies! LOL! I used to wear a black hat, I would call then shake my hat around! I had one come within ten feet of me one day, if I would of had my shotgun, I could have emptied numerous boxes of shells!
