dont know if its true or not... this has been debated to death though about who uses one and who doesnt so lets make sure this doesnt turn into one of those! it wont hurt the sales of either. lets see though if someone knows i will be hunting ky and ohio next year and hunt with both,it would be good to know!

Re: New hunting law for kentucky!!!!!

It is true. Now crossbows can be used all during archery season. Another new thing this year is an increase in non-resident deer tags. They were the same price as resident tags. Now they're $50.00 instead of $25.00. I was born and raised a Kentucky boy but now live in Indiana. So its getting expensive to hunt in my home state.

Re: New hunting law for kentucky!!!!!

I have used a crossbow for about 4 years now. It will not

increase the x-bow users that much as compared to a compound or td.

If it does, it will be slight ! I only use one because of

my personal problems. I would shoot a compound any day if I still could. laugh.gif

Re: New hunting law for kentucky!!!!!

About the only thing that I have seen that indicates the potential for crossbow usage is the fact that the Ohio crossbow harvest now exceeds the bow harvest by quite a bit. You can draw your own conclusions from that. It sounds like bow season has kind of lost its identity out there. Did it affect compound sales ...... who knows?

Re: New hunting law for kentucky!!!!!

I called the KDFWR ten minutes ago and they said that as of right now crossbows are legal during bow season and that it is NOT up for a revote. They went on to say that the UBK has been raising a fuss and that it may get voted on again to ammend the law but as of now it is not.

What I heard from the UBK is that they are not totally against the law but would like to see it ammended to a longer crossbow season, just not as long as regular archery. That sounds like what they should have done in the first place.

But again, right now crossbows are legal and there is nothing up to the committee to change that.
