Born4it
Re: G5 Montec broadheads? Just bought em, I hear they're supposed to shoot EXACTLY like your field tips, but I'll have to wait and see. Haven't screwed them in yet. I'll try to let you know how they do. Good luck, Ryan
buckee
Re: G5 Montec broadheads? I've shot them for 2 seasons now and I love them. I used to have a hard time tuning my broad-heads to shoot the same as my field-points. With these things, I just screwed them on, shot, and was amazed. Some guys think they are a pain to sharpen, as opposed to just putting in new sharp blades, but if you buy the diamond stone sharpener, that Montec makes for the broad-heads, it makes it easy. I don't mind the sharpening at all. There is an acquired knack to it, just like there is to getting a good edge on a knive, but they do give you instructions. Both of my deer fell, within 70 yrds of me this year and never made it to the bush-line.
AdvantageTimberLou
Re: G5 Montec broadheads? From what I hear they are a great broadhead. I also hear that you can get some that will work as field tips so you can practice with them and they will fly just like the hunting broadhead. Really an innovative design in broadheads. Squirrelhunter91
Re: G5 Montec broadheads? Yeah, I'll be watching this post too. I am thinking about getting them in 85 grain.

AdvantageTimberLou
Re: G5 Montec broadheads? Pale Rider, Check out their web site and forum that lists questions and concerns. If you e-mail them through customer service they will send you a free customer catalog that shows their broadheads and describes them better than we can on this site. Check out their site at: http://www.g5outdoors.com Good luck if you start using G5's this year! Lou
need2hunt
Re: G5 Montec broadheads? I've shot them for 3 seasons now and killled several deer with them. They fly pretty close to the same as field tips. The only issue I had was the sharpness, but I have the link to a video on how to sharpen them know so that should take care of that issue. It's definitely a great broadhead.
Leo
Re: G5 Montec broadheads? I really like the consistency I get out of them. I use the Montec 100grs. My last two archery harvests were with that broadhead. Go to their site and learn how to sharpen them.
Pinwheel5
Re: G5 Montec broadheads? Awesome heads. I will never shoot anything else. They will fly just like field points as long as your bow is tuned correctly and you are shooting the correct arrow shaft for you poundage and draw length. Never assume that any head will fly with fieldpoints straight out of the package.
Michiganbowhunter_SQ2
Re: G5 Montec broadheads? i have heard a ton of good things about them...keep wanting to try them but its tough to pull away from muzzys...i might get gutsy and get some this summer and try em out
too_pointer
Re: G5 Montec broadheads? I would like to try the 100 grn. I shoot a crossbow as many know, and am currently using slicktricks. It would be nice to get away from the replacement blades. If they will fly at 300+ fps. and be accurate, I want to try them too_pointer
maddhunter
Re: G5 Montec broadheads? I've used them in a 100grain for about three years and wouldn't shoot anything else. Very durable and fly great.
hoyt19
Re: G5 Montec broadheads? Not to seal this thread put I do have a ? What kind of shape is the point of the head in after making contact with some bone. Do they mushroom, or does the tip break?
VtBowhunter
Re: G5 Montec broadheads? Mostly they stay the way they were before the shot, but sometems you'll get one that the tip will bend over on.......I did a couple years ago.
