RangerClay
I was going to buy a new barrel for my Encore and found this company on the net. They seem to have some good deals. Has anyone ever done business with them and were you satisfied with your purchase? http://www.eabco.com/encore.html Ranger
AJ
Re: Question for Encore users They are a good company. I have bought a Swift scope from them in the past and the transaction went fine.
tedicast
Re: Question for Encore users I personally have not, but a guy that I chat with on the Bellm's TC's forums, ordered a 375 H&H mage Encore barrel form Eabco in Dec, and he just recieved it in the past couple weeks. Thats a prety hefty wait for a barrel. Just something to keep in mind if you are ordering a custom barrel from them. If you are looking to buy a factory barrel, it shouldn't be a problem if they have it in stock. My .223, 26" barrel for my Encore was ordered from Midsouth. I have had no problem with any of my orders from them.

RangerClay
Re: Question for Encore users 2-pointer, I am looking for two things. I am just getting started in coyote hunting and I want to use my encore. I want to get a 26" .22-250 barrel. If you read my thread from the varmint hunting room I am trying to decide as well whether to get a regular or heavy barrel. Ranger
too_pointer
Re: Question for Encore users Hi Ranger !! Sorry, I don't look in the varmint room everyday. I am interested as I also would like a critter barrel for my encore Alot of my friends have the 22-250, and love them. Please let me know how you like it when you get one too_
slugshooter
Re: Question for Encore users I'm thinking of getting an Encore myself. Mainly because of the interchangeability of the rifle itself. It will be late August before I can pick one up if that's what I decide. One question, there is one gun shop in my immediate area that carries the Encore, is a price roughly around 600 dollars with a Realtree Hardwoods stock and foreend a good deal, or should I shop around outside my area. tedicast
Re: Question for Encore users I paid $614.75 for my Stainless/Hardwoods, 209x50 Encore out the door, last April. The guy I bought it from is the cheapest shop around here, so thats probably a pretty good price.
slugshooter
Re: Question for Encore users I think the shop here is 605.00 if I remember correctly. Same deal, Stainless/Hardwoods, 209X50. If I do get it I'll trade in my CVA to drop the price down a little, I might get 20 Bucks in trade for it.
RangerClay
Re: Question for Encore users Howdy all, Thanks for the great advise. I plan to make the purchase in the next couple weeks. I will let everyone know how it transpires. Tedicast, I'm not sure what happened to your friend and I will be sure to keep that in mind. However the web page does say to call them before you order to check on availability. Since this is the off season I'm not really concerned about the wait but if it goes over a month I will get my money back. I have found another option too for anyone who is interested. I am finding good or better deals on E-bay but I have to check them out some more first. Type Thompson Center Encore or TC Encore in your search. Has anyone had luck buying T/C barrels on E-bay? Slugshooter, got my Realtree with blue barrel for $535+tax from Herb Phillipsons. They were $50 cheaper than Gander Mountain. The web page above also allows you build your encore to your specs so you have just the barrel you need when you make the purchase. It could save you some money. However the web page does say to call them before you order to check on availability. [/ QUOTE ] He had been in contact with them. It was a special order custom barrel, with a JP recoil Eliminator. He was in contact with them when he ordered, and they quoted him a 4 week delivery time, and it ended up being 4X that long. Just something to keep in mind. I'm sure on an in stock item it would not be a problem. [ QUOTE ] I have found another option too for anyone who is interested.
