Guest ronin
Howdy folks, I've been mia here but in the turkey section for awhile. I missed y'all! I just got my new Western Rivers Predation MP3 player but I haven't fielded it yet. Hopefully tonight! I am also switching rifles to a .243 WSSM. Anyone have experience with either for yotes, cats, and other varmits? I bought Combined Technology moly coated ballistic tips in 55 gr. for the varmit business. I figured I'd try the Barnes XXX 85's for deer and antelope.
RangerClay
Re: Predation Ronin, I'm trying to decide what caliber to use for coyotes. What is so special about the .243 WSSM? Ranger
Guest ronin
Re: Predation I wouldn't say there is anything too special about it other than it's a .243 in a short, fat cartirdige. The ballistics look good and the action on the rifle is real short, too. I think the biggest reason was #1 to have a new rifle. Secondly, .243 is a pretty broad spectrum round. 55 Gr. BT's for varmits and 85-100 gr big game bullets for deer and antelope. I like the idea of one rifle for both types of hunting.
