slugshooter
I have to admit I am anticipating this new Star Wars installment. Already bought my ticket through Fandango.com so I don't have to wait in line. You would think all those hard core fanatics would just buy their tickets on-line instead of sleeping outside waiting for Thursday. I can't go until Friday but, no biggie, maybe all the people walking around in the costumes will be gone by Friday. I was reading a short interview with Ewan McGregor where he was quoted as saying that Star Wars fans frighten him, you know, the hard core ones. He said after a stage performance in London a guy stopped him outside and said "Obi-Wan, do you have any advice for an apprentice Jedi?" Ewan told him to get a life and stop being so rediculous. I read somewhere that a huge population of Britain lists their relgious affiliation as Jedi. Anyone else have any funny stories about Star Wars fanatics, maybe you are one yourself, or have you ever gone to the movies wearing a costume. When I was a kid, my grandmother took me to see "The Lone Ranger", you know, the one with the bad acting and Christopher Lloyd in probably his worst role ever. I wore my Lone Ranger mask and had my six-shooter cap gun strapped to my hip. Of course, nowadays they would evacuate the theater and call the SWAT team if a kid did that. Sad world we live in. need2hunt
Re: Anyone going to Star Wars next week?? I'll probably try to see it the second week that it's out. My brother is a star wars and LOTR fanatic, he doesn't do the costume thing but he has tons of the action figures... in fact still has the original 12 star wars figures still in the package that my mom bought back in 1977. He's also enjoys collecting autographs, he buys a few but gets a lot of them by just sending a request to the actor... here's a link to his star wars autographs... S.W. Doc
Re: Anyone going to Star Wars next week?? I absolutely want to see it, but will probably wait for the crowd to die down a bit. I don't think I will wait for the DVD because I'm sure the special effects will be much better on the big screen. Doc
slugshooter
Re: Anyone going to Star Wars next week?? Thats a pretty impressive collection your brother has there!! I am an autograph collector myself but my autographs center around the sports and public figure world. Shoot, if he ever wants to buy a new car all he will have to do is sell those original toys he has in his original packaging, those would fetch a pretty penny. I wish I still had my original toys, but you know what they say, wish in one hand and poop in the other. I kick myself every now and then for not having them anymore. I like the LOTR movies, not as big a fanatic as my fiance's mother, she's 60 years old and she has LOTR posters of Orlando Bloom and Viggo Mortensen hanging up, she has a replica of Frodo's sword and some of those figurines. I'll stick with my NASCAR die casts.

TravisM
Re: Anyone going to Star Wars next week?? Well, my brother is a HUGE Star Wars Nut! He just spent four days in Indianapolis at the Star Wars Convention. He talked me into going with him to the movie for the first showing! So I've had my ticket for about three weeks now! We will be going up Wednesday evening and having some dinner and then we will be at the movie at 12:01 a.m. for the first showing!! I think I may be crazy! My brother will be in full Jedi outfit, he is trying to talk me into dressing up, but I don't think that is going to happen! Maybe he can use his Jedi powers to get someone else to pay for our dinner and drinks!! "You will pay for our meal." I will pay for your meal. "You will leave the waitress a big tip." I will leave the waitress a big tip.
