Tony
i challenge all you bowhunters to get out and shoot at least one 3d shoot this summer to get some practice in.. you dont have to compete , just shoot from where your comfortable... you might find you really like it and it will help your bowhunting shooting skills.... ThethirdI
Re: Bowhunting Practice Challenge My buddy (Magnus Bro) and I like to go to 3D shoots and play a game between the two of us. It's kind of like playing horse with a basketball. The first person picks the shot and the second has to hit from the same spot and position as the first shooter. We only keep score for ourselves and usually don't even turn in a card but it's lots of fun and we really try hard to make the shots as challenging for each other as possible. This is great practice. AdvantageTimberLou
Re: Bowhunting Practice Challenge I plan to do that Tony to help me better judge distances when crunch time occurs and you can't pull out the rangefinder in time!! I plan to do some this year for sure!! Lou
Guest MagnusBro
Re: Bowhunting Practice Challenge Yes we do, and you would think with three eyes he would beat me once in a while! lol
too_pointer
Re: Bowhunting Practice Challenge I agree 100% with you !!! A few of my hunting buddies take out their bows and use judo points or blunts on their arrows, and do the same, pick out targets like stumps, ect. I think the best practice for them is judging different distances to the targets too_
VTbowman
Re: Bowhunting Practice Challenge Not gonna hit any 3D coarse this year. Never really do. I hate the competition thing with a bow. To me its about personal shooting and of coarse hunting which I do alone too. I agree 3D is great pratice for but just not for me. I prefer stump shooting and in the yard I like judo points and a tennis ball thrown to odd yardages. Kinda like yard golf. I figure if you can hit a tennis ball consistantly with a long bow then your ready for deer... JMO
Guest antlers21
Re: Bowhunting Practice Challenge I hit around 3 local ones during the summer, I do not compete except between the handful of friends that go with. Its fun and like tony said it is great practice.
JimPic
Re: Bowhunting Practice Challenge I usually make 5-6 traditional shoots a year and every weekend,I shoot the course at the club I belong to.At my club, there's no stakes so we try to come up with differant shots to keep it interesting.
