fisherguy
Go for it, its not assault unless you threatened them with your weapon, or made threatening gestures. Here the specific clause is something like"a reasonable person would feel threatened". Charge the losers because they have no case unless you acted n a threatening manner. buckee
Re: Hunter harassment LOOK OUT [ QUOTE ] ***** Let this be a lesson to everyone. If you have a run-in with an anti, make sure you are very careful. Put your gun or bow down and walk away from it. Do not raise a hand to point or gesture to them, Don't even utter a word to them, Get there description , their plate number and call the police right away. ***** [/ QUOTE ] Very good advise. I hope you do pursue it. I would like to see some precedence set in the courts, so we have some backing against this sort of thing.
VTbowman
Re: Hunter harassment LOOK OUT We had a old lady stop her truck, get out, open the other door and verbally send her dog out to chase deer my co-worker was hunting one evening in my front field. He ran back across the field to his truck and chased after her and got her plate and we took her to court. She was let off. Its was just not right.. Apparently she has done this sort of thing to the game wardens wife and nephew too on several occasions and they REALLY want to get her for doing this sort of thing. (game wardens property is next to mine.) She is known around my town as Crazy Mary... LOL Its tough to make those charges stick and get justice from these fools... But I would do it all over in a heart beat...
archerjg
Re: Hunter harassment LOOK OUT Talk to a lawyer and then pursue it. They threatened you in my opinion and had no reason to do what they did. Archerjg
