Guest gt2003
I've got smoke residue on the bottom of my scope, right above the nipple where I put the cap. I'm sure its from the cap but I need to know what to use to remove it. Thanks in advance, Greg
too_pointer
Re: smoke residue on bottom of scope I have Butler Creek covers on all my scopes. They have the quick release covers on them, I really like them, even have them on my x-bow. !! Pretty cheap for the protection they give you. I don't prefer the see-through rings because they raise the scope higher than I like, but many use them. You can use Rem. DriLube on the scope , or something similiar for added protection. too_pointer
AJ
Re: smoke residue on bottom of scope I got a couple of Buffalo Bullet Scope Protectors for my Pyrodex guns. Another thing you can do is put a layer of black tape on the bottom of the scope.
Guest gt2003
Re: smoke residue on bottom of scope Hey, thats pretty neat. I haven't seen anything like that before. What should I use to get off the residue? Solvent or what? I haven't tried anything except a damp cloth as of now and that didn't work well. Let me know. Thanks,Greg
AJ
Re: smoke residue on bottom of scope Go easy with the solvent around the scopes adjustments. If solvent gets inside, it can eat the O-rings and cause nitrogen leak, which means fogging can occur.
