buckee
Is there anyone who can help me find a good deal on either a Bushnell Yardage Pro "Legend" rangefinder or a Nikon Team Realtree Laser 800 Rangefinder. I need the waterproof ones for the climate here, not the water-resistant ones, as found in the other models by the same companies. I can get a Bushnell Yardage Pro Legend here, but the price is outrageous at $499.00 plus tax
Chrud
Re: Rangefinders No experience with that Nikon, but I do have a Nikon Team Realtree Laser400. I liked it a lot better than my Bushnell. I love my Nikon optics.
buckee
Re: Rangefinders The laser 400 isn't waterproof, is it Matt ? I think it just says water resistant.
VTbowman
Re: Rangefinders Oh great now you got me worried about mine. I hunted with it during a hard rain and I am not sure if it was "proof" or "resistant"... Thanks Buckee....!!! Sorry about the high prices too, I do not have any sources for anything cheaper. Good Luck.
Chrud
Re: Rangefinders Yep, it is just "water resistant." It'll be hard to find a 400 now though. It hasn't fogged up on my at all yet though, and thats through rain, sleet, snow and 0 degree temps. I would certainly suggest one with a red display, like the 400 or 800 (I think the 800, I'm not sure).
billkay
Re: Rangefinders Nikon's Laser 400 is water resistant, not proof. Their new one, a 600 I think is really awesome. Super accurate, can read off a very small target, and it's water proof. Check them out.

buckee
Re: Rangefinders Thanks John...I think I found the best price through those links...thanks again. Pretty pricey, but I want a good one. ...gotta pay the toll to the troll if you want good equipment, eh
Chrud
Re: Rangefinders If you want a Nikon in an affordable waterproof version, the 600 is a great one. But, the 800 is just a little better. It may, however, cause some jelousy on my part.
buckee
Re: Rangefinders I just ordered the 800. I really do need a floatable, waterproof system for this climate.... I learned a long time ago that "water-resistant" and "water-proof" are not the same thing. ... I live in the rain-forest of Canada ...LOL eat your heart out Chrud
AJ
Re: Rangefinders Hey Buckee, Here is a 700 yard Leica . They are great optics. I had the Bushnell and then I got this, its night and day difference. They have the typical rangefinders at decent prices on their regular web site. SWFA is a good company. I have bought a lot of stuff from them. Bear Basin is another good company. I have had good success with them also. Here are some others that may offer what you want. Chrud
Re: Rangefinders I hate to say it Steve, but you ain't getting a Christmas card this year! I've been checking out the new Monarch ATB Team Realtree binos. I'll probably get them in a year or two. Give the TR Hunting Binoculars (water resistant and 10X36) a permanent spot as "truck binos." RyanH
Re: Rangefinders You will be happy with that nikon! I have had two fo the nikons! one was the Nikon Laser 400 and lost them! Then I bought the Nikon Laser 440 the newer ones this year!
buckee
Re: Rangefinders Thanks liveferhuntin, I ended up ordering the Team Realtree camo one for $349.95. It was the best deal I could find. I really needed one. My distance judgement seems to be getting worse each year instead of better and I don't want to have to give up bow hunting because of it. A range-finder is an ethical tool to have for this ol' fart.
