My buddy and I scored on the last day of the season in Indiana......I hadn't had a chance to hunt yet this year and talked my buddy into going out at his place with me. Well Not much was happening at first light...There was a lot of noise, but nobody came in...At about 5:45 we were thinking about moving and I said let my try it one more time and wouldn't you know Tommy Boy fired back!!! He still was 800 yards off and making his way up the fenceline from what we could tell on the back side of the hill...Well he entered the woods about 500 yards away and I kept calling and he let me know he was interested...Finally he popped out at about 400 yards and strutted around and then hung up at 200 yards! I finally got him to come in by turning my head away and softening the call.....we lost site of him at 125 yards b/c of a dip in the field and then he reappeared at 60 yards....Just a little more talk from me had him coming on a string to the decoys!!!! At about 20 yards I told my buddy to shoot, but the darn bird would stop strutting..He came all the way to 10 yards before I got him to poke his head up and that was all she wrote!!!

He was 22 lbs...

11.5 inch beard

22,21mm on the spurs

A side note...This was the first Turkey that I have called in!! Also back at the house a few guys stopped and said that the bird had split us and that I called him away from them!!!!

I really think I had more fun calling that bird in than my buddy did shooting him.....It was such a rush b/c it was his first tom...He's having him mounted in full strut!!

Lol as you can see I'm still excited about it...I will try to get some pictures up as soon as I get them......
