Turkeygirl
So I will be going up to Star Lake in the Adirondacks on June 2 for 3 weeks. My college has a campus up there where I will be taking Wilderness First Repsonder (first aid) and a week of Trail Maintenance/Wilderness Living. My professor told me "Bring your fishing pole". So I hear there is good fishing up there? What do you guys suggest I bring besides my license and pole? Like what size line do I want (I was thinking 8 lb. test which is what I usually use), or any lures/jigs? I will take a few lures and jigs and crank baits. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Smallies, 8 pound test, some tubes, cranks, twistertails, and a top water trout 8 or less(how much pressure) could prob get away with 4 if you have a limber rod and a good smooth drag, replace tubes with some Roostertails, and the topwater with small spoons, when you do cranks think small supending rapalas/sinking minnows. got flyrod

Turkeygirl
Re: Fishing in the Adirondacks...what do I need Well my professor told me "trout, bass, perch, pike etc...."and I read that Star Lake has Lake Trout (have to be at least 21" to keep!) And for all I know my professor may take me to some other fishing holes. So far I will probably go with 8lb test line but what do you guys think of 6 lb. test? I actually have a Rapala Sahd rap I got for my birthday and then a smaller floating minnow think I got for Christmas so it will be fun to try those out.
